thanks. I do have white LED handy. thinking of do it. what about change the MFD to white LED as well? what will happen? will it looks same as MKVI?

PS: I use two iron to desolder LED, lot easier than one iron.

No, to all three, unfortunately. It might have been that way with the Polo (don't remember). But with all other MkVs (R32, GTI etc.), there is no limit when you turn it counterclockwise. As I said, it's a plain shaft so you actually "push" the limit around by turning the needle counterclockwise.

And I always leave about 0,5 mm room below the needles so they never get stuck accidentally.

The audi s3 has longer needles which cross the black base of the needle. The scirocco needles are in the pictures above.

Actually, I changed ALL the LEDs in my car to a very very light blueish (tinted white leds). This includes the Climatic controls (those were a bitch), power window switches, light switch, fuel tank switch etc.

Since I'm retrofitting a Climatronic in March/April (I'll put up a DIY on this as well once I'm done), I already got a Climatronic control unit from a MkVI (yes, the control units from the Golf 6 work in a MkV) and changed the LEDs to blueish white as well. Picture is not mine, my control unit is still sitting on my table, waiting to be installed.



If you guys want, I could write a DIY on how to change the LEDs in the rest of the controls.

i don't know why people like to say "it's easy" when in reality it's not.
