Wow! That's great then! Maybe you can have your friend create this type of LED and sell it or even yet, sell Mk5 headlights with this thing already installed for a price.

The video i posted above looks similar but those are quite $$$ for an LED strip.

I would definitely buy yours though if your friend decides to make some

Great stuff!

OP your lights look cool. It sounds like you are planning on offering this as a service? Right?

[quote=Stylist07;3354209]Why is that bratha, I did mine that way and allot of people do that. If u don't go over 5-15 mins on 250deg then it will not effect the housing at all!!!!! Promise

U can use a heat gun after the housing is preheated in the oven that way u don't have to go back and forth from the oven. But be care full with a heat gun cuz to me it's more of a direct heat and u can burn the housing if not careful, plus it's kinda hard to work a heat gun and prying apart on the housing u almost need a 3rd arm to do it. That's why I vote for the oven.

When I split mine I used the heatgun on a low setting to soften the lip over the lense, then just bent it slightly back all round so I could cut the seal...........once ready to re-seal I bonded them back together, then re-heated the lip and bent it back to the original shape.

Prob took 10hrs work per light..........how long did yours take btw?

PM me a price for the LED's ;)

Yes that's what is used, no timer thought, as long as the blinker is on the city lights are off but when the blinker is done then the city lights come back on. These work like OEM style Audi or Porshe cars.

I'm not done yet, only half way. I still have the driver headlight to do and then I will take lots of pix and videos of how they work and look during the day and at night.

Yes I will be selling the LEDs strips and they can be made in a few different way of combinations. All Custum and all made to the custermers liking. If u guys have any ideas or want them done a certain way just ask.

Yes, this will be sold as a service and all install by me personally and all LEDs will be all Custum made to order and made to the Custermer liking.

Well this is my 1st set to do and I want to make sure every thing is OEM top notch quality and plus they are mine too, but yes the passenger side head light took about 3hours or so. I still have the driver side to do and I'm sure this will only take me a hour or so. The most time consuming part is getting in to the head lights, after that is all good.

BTW......Once I'm done with my set and I'm pleased with the install as well as u guys, y'all can have them too but I will have to do the install myself. I can't sell just the LEDs strips at this time. There will be 2 ways to get them, either u can send me ur head lights and I will do all the install myself making them a plug and play kit. Or I can buy u a brand new set and I can install them into the new head lights and mail them to u once install and all u have to do is plug them in. Either way u will have a plug and play kit. Im trying to get the price down to as low as I can so that way these LEDs will be more affordable and that way I can sell more. So I'll keep u guys posted on the price of them and the installation won't be that much but shipping will always suck!!!!!!!

i really hope you can sell this as a headlight set with the LED kit installed in it already so i don't have to pry my own headlight.

looking forward to it. Please post videos! I would love to see this in action.

Will do, my week end actually starts on Sunday but will have them done over the weekend. Once done i will post the videos and pix

I can sell them as a whole headlight kit and plug and play BUT remember this will be very expensive!!! Brand new Xenon head lights cost around $800-$1500 for a OEM set and thats no including the Audi LEDs

Or u can just mail me ur headlights and i can install the Audi LEDs in and mail them back for a plug and play service.

They look ridiculously bright, but I understand that's going to be affected greatly by the exposure.

Shots with headlights lit as well for comparison?

Word of warning VW changed the sealant type on headlights at an unspecified date. If you have the butyl type sealant then heating it to separate will work. If yours are epoxied together no amount of heat will help and you'll have to cut them apart.

Otherwise, looks great

I hope those LEDS are high quality. Coz it would suck if a couple started to go and you will have to do this over again. Also, LED doesn't like heat and within that headlamp it isn't exactly what you call "room temperature."

for the effort.

From what i know, yes, these LEDs are high quality. they are Osram LEDs that are used in allot of VW OEM LED applications and should last up to 100,000hrs. As far Heat, i can add a dimmer to the LEDs so that they run at 50% and this will extend the life of them for sure.

All my work is back up to 100% OEM quality and 100% replaceable if need, but if the customer gets them wet or in a collision then this will void the warranty for sure....

It depends, u will have 2 options

U can mail me ur headlights and i will install the LEDs and then mail them back to u for a Plug and Play kit. U will have to pay for shipping both ways, unless u live in Dallas TX.

This will cost around $350 shipped back to u for P&P install.

Or i can buy a brand new set of headlights and install the LEDs to them and then mail them to u and everything will be Plug and Play. OEM headlights are around $800-1000 Plus $350 for LEDs and shipped to u.

Either way, i can get into ANY headlight in 10-15mins with NO damage to the headlights at all

Yeah, its kinda hard to really tell how bright they really are, BUT the City lights are running at 100% and CAN be dimmed to 50% if needed for night driving. All these LEDs are custom and can have Dimmers added to the Electrical wiring if the customer wants it.

I will be taking more Videos with the headlights on and During the day and at Night.

If there are any other things that people might want to see or have any other questions please let me know!!!!

Not really sure what u mean by this, but I have not been able to drive my R very much lately. I have lots of upgrades that I'm doing to the car and the LEDs for the headlights is one of them.

I know that when I made the video u can see the road quite well even with just the city lights on. I still need to make a few more videos once I get the car back together.

If I did not answer ur question, sorry about that maybe if u rephrased ur question just a bit that might help me.......

BTW.......I'm also going to be upgrading my White side markers to LEDs with 4" strips. Each strip has about 15 LEDs and are SMD LEDs and will be custom strips too. Once I have those done ill post up pix too........

Turn signals on the side mirrors will be redone with custom 8" LEDs strips and as well as the rear side markers. All custom all Plug and Play,u will not be disappointed with the out come!!!!!!!!

All these should be done soon ,just waiting on parts.

Hey Stylist
What's your thought on the Panamera style LEDs on the projector housing? For some reason the GTI projector shrouds with those "dimples" on them make a perfect, clean and subtle LEDs conversion. A little drilling and some high quality 5W-10W round LED is all that's needed. May be run a relay shut them off when the HIDs are on to avoid burn them being so closed to the heat. Not knocking on your conversion but I'm not a big fan of those overdone Xmas LED's.
