Eurosport cat-back is on!

Sooo, I have been waiting for this for a while, and finally got to pick one up last week. I'm very happy with the sound. Quite mellow, but a little sporty. Install was done in about an hour, pretty easy and can be done in your driveway. Here's some pics with a vid file to hear it in my garage.

And the link to the sound clip:http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...t=GTI025-1.flv

I live off of Moreno Beach, south of the 60 by JFK. I go to UCR so I'm always driving around, probably see you one of these days

Ahhh! Photobucket is blocked. :(

Mine is getting shipped and can't wait to get back to install it. :)

As for performance you will not get any significant increase of power from a catback only. Only when coupled with the right mods and tuning you will then put a couple more or less whp than comparable setups.

Rabbitpilot, you got PM, please send it to my e-mail! Thanks. :)

PM replied! BTW: He's right. You may see some small gains from the lack of the rear resonator, but it's not huge by any means. I did the mod for a decrease in weight and I wanted a deeper, mellow tune. I'll call Eurosport and see if they want to dyno it for the record though. I think they might have a previous file on this car somewhere.

Like I said before, an exhaust will not give you much gains unless coupled with a high flowing downpipe. There's a few people running the ATP downpipe with the stock exhaust and putting nice numbers to the wheels. Such is the case of iBoost, who recently broke into the 13s.

If you decide to go BT, sure, then a 3" exhaust would make sense, but since I'm keeping my K03 or maybe upgrading to a K04 on a far future, a 3" would only make noise.

I bought the ATP downpipe and removed the resonator a while back now. After watching a YouTube video with the same setup, I decided it would be too loud and went looking for an quieter exhaust, or one that would give me a better sound. This is why I picked the Euro Sport over the competition. It flows good, it sounds good, and just couldn't pass up the military overseas discount.

I'm hoping to get it on a dyno after all is said and done.

Don't take it personal dude, it's not directed at you. In fact I actually meant to quote Alf.

And about the SPAWARs, lol, yeah, we get quite a line waiting to get online actually, and the computers are slow as hell.

We can get Satellite too but the installation is like $4k + $1k/m after installed. Still there's a couple people who set it up, mostly senior ranking, and it's still SLOW.

You could do that, but I don't trust some knucklehead exhaust tech to hopefully get it right and not have it hang perfectly, and most use squeeze bent construction, and not mandrel. I also like the keepers for the hangers near the tip, and the straighter angle going into the muffler. Oh, I also did not know how the stock resonator was baffled, nor if it was a conventional reflection type system, and did not want to risk a buzzy, craptastic sound. The tips themselves, or the actual shape and diameter of the tips, can alter the sound. A larger open tip will more often give you a deeper tone, since the stock ones have a knurled tip, I wanted an open tip.

A little piece of mind (for me at least), was worth the few bucks they are asking for the exhaust.
