GolfMk5 Wakefield Park 22nd March Track Day and Driver Training Day - Time for paymen

This day has now been CANCELLED.

Sorry to those who were keen, I will look into doing somethign else smaller at some stage.

Start a new thread.

OK guys, payments are due for the track day on 22nd

Right now we dont have the numbers to make it as cheap as possible which is OK, as I anticipate we will have more ppl as the day gets closer.

I need a $150 deposit from everyone, and then the remainder will be paid on the day in cash. It shouldnt be more than another $150, but might be $170 or $180, but I doubt it. As its 2 installments, and you all drive German cars, I dont think its too much of a stretch for most of you :) We need deposits to book Wakefield for the day for 22nd March.

The final price from Wakefield is $6800 for the whole day with 4 trainers, plus $50 per person for a license that lasts a year.

So assuming you dont have a license, and we get 30 people it will be $277 per person. If you have a wakefield or CAMS or AASA license you save $50.

The following people PMd me and have confirmed attendance. Guys if you can please start depositing money to the 5th Gear Account it would be good, and guys if anyone else want to come, please PM me!

This will be a great day, and you WILL learn a LOT.

I have several concerns. If we are to pay our deposits and this doesnt go ahead? What then? do we get our deposit back??

Secondly i'm concerned that the final price doesnt seem to be set yet and can vary depending of number of people committed to go. So it could either prove to be very cheap or very expensive and I fear if the price gets out of hand that people may not attend as there are numerous trackclubs which holds track days at wakefield for significantly cheaper price.

The deposit is to secure the track, but I wont be taking deposits untill I have at least 20 or so people confirmed and ready to pay. I dont think it will be too hard to get another 5-10 ppl in the next month or so befoe the track day, bringing the price down.

And even with 20 people, it will be about $320 per person as we will just get 3 trainers instead of 4, which is still good value for a full day with training.

But like I said it wont be hard to get a few other ppl, as I know some who are intrested too.

Why don't you look into organising some instructors and just going on an open/speed off the streets day? Save the cost of the private track booking. If you pick a mid week day that's not close to any events in NSW, you'll end up with a quiet day at Wakefield anyway. To close to any other NSW tarmac motorsport and you'll find the track a bit busier. The last time i went there was me and 4 other cars all day...

As a final point, you can do an instructor led track day at EC for maybe $20 more than your current price if you book as a 10+ group. Fair less of a hassle to get people to turn up.

OK guys just spoke to derrick.

If I get at least 20 confirmed people then we will take deposits, and hopefully can get some more ppl too. This means the costs might vary, but it will be paid in two lumps, and a few dollars here or thre should be OK for most people.

The idea of booking the track is that the day will be a lot more structured, numbers will be controlled, and you will get more track time and more training than you would otherwise.

Derrick said he can come along to a speed off the streets day for $500 and offer training but then the day wont be as structured or organised, and if 70 ppl turn up to the track there will be very little actual track time

Up to you guys now, i have full faith it will work, we just need everyone to pay their deposits. And i dont think finding 5 extra people to keep costs down will be hard as we get closer.

saad

This would have gone ahead and been eprfect if there were numbers but it doesnt look like that at the moment. If you want the day to go ahead please let me know ASAP so we can get deposits.

For all those who have already confirmed and asked for bank details, thankyou.

If this day does not go ahead, then myself, and any other interested people, will looking into going to a track day during the middle of the week, and getting Derrick and maybe another instructor to come along too. 5-10 people should be doable and good. If this happens, I will PM interested parties

Saad

to build on jesters suggestion... i recommend possibly abandoning this because 320 is kinda expensive for a track day even with instructors.

What I recommend is piggybacking off circuit events hosted by CircuitClub or AutoSports etc... paying their nominated fee and then pay an additional separate fee eg 50 bucks per person for tuition FROM these guys.. and that they are ONLY accessibly to members who have paid up.

That way you dont have the cost of booking track days etc making the cost prohibitive

We were also thinking of Rick Bates at a wakefield speed off the streets day, which has been suggested by Schnitzel Baby which is also a great idea. About 4-5 people with Rick Bates INstructing us.

Alright guys the 22nd March is now cancelled due to lack of numbers and willingness of ppl to pay which is understandabale. Sorry to those who were excited. Might look into organising a smaller thing soon
