2nd half of a 20 min HPDE session at Road Atlanta June 2-3 chasing a friend in a 993, he started way ahead of me and I managed to reel him in. H2Sport spindles installed. Car is running well, and a lot less understeer now hustling around Road Atlanta. Used my iPhone4 on a windshield mount that didn't hold the camera all that steady.
In turns 7 and 10b I'm able to hold much better speed now without understeer and plowing. There is almost no tire squealing, except when I eff up a line. Camber is set at -2.0, which is less than I normally run but it doesn't need as much static camber anymore. Tire wear looks much better now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lKVX...ature=youtu.be

Have you tried letting the car run out onto the " sidewalk" at the top of the esses? I found you can run the car out of the esses with no lift, no brake and let the car go off, keep the left tires on the curbing and get a monster run down the straight. If you are over taking there the right tires run through the grass when you run out of the service road but it's not violent. |

I missed the inside gator on turn 7 a couple times too, but with the spindles the car got around that corner and back on the power so much better. Correcting the geometry works wonders on this car, its really a lot more fun. My assigned student showed up in a 91 Mercedes 560SEL (yeah the huge 4000 lb yacht with flags on the front fenders!). Not sure what he was thinking. Almost thankfully the brakes blew out end of day one, as expected and in worse place possible at end of back straight going down hill into 10a - thankfully there was just enough brake left to get us off the track in one piece. The car was pristine, but it doesn't belong on a track.

We use direzza star specs. Carbotech xp10 front / xp 8 rear. Depends on track and condition:
Daytona 14 - hour (40 % rain). 1 set of tires never rotated, 1 set of pads PBIR 24 hour - 10 tires, 2& 1/2 sets front pads, 1& 1/2 rear pads , all 4 rotors changed (at 20 hours) (on avg we get 1 set of tires, all 4 pads, front rotors to last for a 7 hour race) We often destroy ball joints, bushings and occasional motor mounts- the down side of running a big heavy car. |

realized I had not posted here in a bit.
This was from this weekend. Tires are super dead, but still a nice time in the Arizona sun... Would of had data, but the Iphone would over heat from the time of just leaving grid to the start.

This is the 1st 30 minutes, you can observe some crappy driving like not hitting the apex at all (and losing most of the benefit a Haldex can give). Nice yellow Ferrari 458 Italia can be spotted as well...

This is the second half an hour...I start to get a bit better towards the end as I'm trying to follow a Lotus that passes me at 17:10. I'm still screwing up the line royally in the small S-curve for example. My time was 2:10 which I guess is OK for a beginner. 2:05 should be doable once I acquire the balls (and entry-line) to the big S-curve flat out and figure the smaller S out..

Side by Side comparison.
Brian Peters (current F Stock national champion) driving my car vs. me at a local event. He ran a 34.6 to my 34.8. Big difference is the way that he has the car prepared earlier than I do for each element and can thus carry more speed.

Went to a Corvette Autox today didn't take the GTI, but took my integra ls, with an ITR rear sway bar and cold tires and stock suspension and bfg comp2, I finally experienced throttle lift oversteer, Still trying to get myself familiar with the car and handling, completely different from the gti with all the electronics and usually I only drive car to and from work. But I enjoy it and was finally glad to experience throttle lift in an controlled environment. Driving on summer tires are quite different from the usual all seasons, need more practice.

I would need a set of wheels with out stretched tires then i could raise the car and drive the shit out of it. Dont know if I have the $$$$$ for that right now.

@Laguna Seca last Sunday.
This is the second session of the day, just right before I blew up two coil packs. Hit a lot of misfiring when accelerating hard, esp when coming out of turn 5 going uphill. I should've stopped the session so I dont have to drive home with 3 cylinders.. ![]() Tires are Kumho Ecsta XS with 5 track days, need new tires for the next event for sure.
