Another Cam Follower bites the dust...

Went to a shop for a simple code read. Coil pack 3 needed to be replaced, okay cool, done. Oh yeah, lets check the cam follower...not good. They didn't have one in stock, so they were going to let me have one from a car that's been sitting for a while. That had a hole too...hahaha. We got one in eventually, but now I need to look into getting the cams replaced.

Hate seeing these threads for something that simply takes 5 minutes to check. I change mine every oil change, is it necessary? Definetly not. I drive my car hard, and like they say gotta pay to play!

True, true...

I had no idea about this part until people started posting. I just change my oil, plugs, and drive that MOFO. Approaching 119k...

Quick question for you guys that's experienced this or know someone who has. Does the cam HAVE to be replaced after finding one of these? No code for the fuel reg came up, and I found out I have the B Cam. I already ordered my parts through ECS and I'm planning on doing this for peace of mind I guess. But if it's not a must, maybe I'll hold off?

Input, feedback? Or would I be an idiot for not doing it...lol.

The cam doesnt necessarily need to be changed, at least not immediately. Just get a new stock pump and follower and rock it out for a while. Thats what I did, going 19k miles strong. At 115,500 miles. I was going to go S3 cam, blah blah blah. But said fuck it and buying a new car. Your follower will probably wear unevenly now, so keep an eye on it about every 10k miles or so.
