how long did it take to get the beta installed? just curious if the DL will be bogged down or not. i might run home at lunch and get my beta dl started.

Just played a few games on the BETA, pretty fuckin sweet.

Took like 40ish minutes to download for me (on the PC).

Now off to work ugh..

lucky you. i went home at lunch and started the DL. watched it for about 20 mins and was only at 15%. my internet DL speed is horrendous, lucky to get 400 kb/s but i do fine playing online, usually 90-150 ish ping. not spectacular but not terrible.

Played the ps3 demo ( never received a pc beta code ) and I'm a bit disappointed in it. I'll need to play some more to decide for sure and some of my gripes could be fixed before it releases. Mostly I have issues with the weapons. How they handle, how they recoil etc. Feels more like Medal of Honor than bad company 2 which is not a good step in my opinion.

right now the beta is WAY more glitchier than the alpha was. in the alpha i had small clipping issues, like running into a tiny invisible wall that required me to jump over before i could run forward more. now there are literally holes in the map where you fall through the ground texture and get stuck if you prone or crouch in certain spots, but can still shoot out of the hole and kill people. another gripe i have is the squad system, right now you only have the option to join a random squad or leave one. you cant create one or pick what squad you join. very annoying when trying to play with friends

on a plus note, i am loving the support class. played for 4 hrs yesterday, am rank 13 and have just shy of 46k points for support. right now i have unlocked the m249, c4, and the pkp(modernized pkm). the next unlock is at 60k pts and is the mortar, but isnt in the beta. after that at 100k i unlock the m240, then at 200k i get the m60. im definitely going to get the m240, but not sure if i want to play support long enough to get the m60.

i havent played any other classes yet, i did play engineer for literally like 2 mins just to try the pp-2000 out and got 2 kills with it and died. other than that ive just been playing support.

looks like i'll be DL'ing this... i've never played a BF game before but i did enjoy the way the weapons worked in MOH. we'll see!

closed beta started the 27th, and went for 2 days. open beta starts today. so you still have a chance to play the beta. im not sure how the open beta is working on the pc, meaning i dont know if you have to sign up for a chance to get a beta key or if its just a download like a demo.

well, im almost done unlocking all the weapons for the support class that are in the beta. i just have to get the m60 and i think im 20k pts away.

ill either move to assault or recon when i finish up support, not sure which one yet. also, if anyone is interested, there is no penalty for teamkilling so if youre an assault and have the defib, you can TK and revive for infinite points. my buddy figured that out yesterday.

Played it a bunch last night. Pretty awesome so far, holes in the map suck ass though. Also the sound design seems kinda lacking compared to the last game...
