This is why SUV's aren't allowed at track days:

This actually brings up a discussion on why don't people ever just let the car spin?

Over correction is very dangerous.

I was always taught you fight it up to a reasonable point, and then if you can't catch it just let it spin because often a spin will keep you on surface.

Once a big top heavy SUV whips around like that, its difficult to recover. And reason why you take everything out of the vehicle before going on the track. If the person had stayed on the gas they might have saved it rather than a panic brake.

Looks like he/she hit the apex curb really hard, launching the car and pitching it sideways. Then, while a full opposite lock, the right rear looks like it got snagged on the track-out alligators, whipping the car back the other way.

There was no "saving" to be had here. The mistake was made at the turn-in point. Driver was just a passenger after that.

Driving a car at the limit on a road course is like pitching a baseball. You wind up, whip your arm forward, and LET IT GO. Once you've made the commitment, there's not much to be done except watch the progress and hope it ends up where you hoped it would.

Especially not an SRT-8 Jeep. Lots of power in a top-heavy off-road vehicle?

Sounds like something only Detroit would think was a good idea.

Thumbs down

Once a year hundreds of idiots visit the Ring (they call it 'Carfriday').

He already tried to treat his CRV like an GT3 in the Adenauer Forst:

And so he did in the Eiskurve (after Brünnchen):
