Tuned R32 vs other cars - experiences?

I'd like to know what kind of experience people have racing with their R32 vs other cars? Especially if you've tuned with chip + intake + exhaust, I'd be interested to know your stories...

I have always had bad luck in facing potential cars for little acceleration race, either from roll or dig.. For me always the cars next to traffic lights are something from Toyota Corolla to Opel Astra 1.6 =)

There is some stories in MKV vs section in this forum but would like know MORE =)

I did race at the time I had my R32, but all races happened with me being stock. I did have an intake/exhaust/chip but did not try that combo against any other car

Cars I raced when I was stock:

2009 Honda Civic Type R, roll race - WON
2002 Honda S2000 (I-E-H), roll race - LOST
2004 Nissan 350Z 6M/T, roll race - LOST
2008 Nissan Altima 3.5SE, roll race - LOST
2008 Nissan Altima 3.5SE, dig race - WON
2010 Camaro V6, roll race - DEAD EVEN
2010 Audi A5 3.2, roll race - LOST
2009 Nissan Maxima 3.5SE, dig race - WON
2008 VW Scirocco 2.0T, roll race - WON
2004 VW R32 (I-E-CHIP), roll race - WON
2008 Jeep Wrangler with a 7.0L strocked HEMI swap, dig race - WON

I do remember each and very one of them, they weren't too many races.

With my Mods added after, I don't think it would have helped me a lot. Barely noticed any difference in power. Just got a more linear power curve.

Hope this helps

For my self i never race , because i think it is self pleasure car .
Something you enjoy when you step up inside.

I dont like to loose for any reason .

If it is amatter of speed i would get mustange gt with supercharge and Nos :)

Nice list, thanks... Type-R win was pleasure for sure I guess :) At least Type-R drivers around here are total jackasses..

But that A5 3.2 lost was surprise! It has same engine and probably weighs at least the same than R32.

Nissan 350Z is quite common sport car in Finland as well, it has 280 bhp so maybe I should then not race it, at least from roll =)

Also its surprise that you won tuned MKIV R32 with stock MKVR32..

Thanks for post!

Well you have point in that..it IS truly pleasure just to drive the car. And losing sucks for sure but sometimes the feeling just gets you when you want to feel the excitement when racing with other car, at least for me it works - unless losing big time :D

To add to that I raced, from a dig and a roll, an R32 in my Dads Infniti M35s and won both times.

Infiniti is nice win! Cars that I would love to race with my current mods would be Audi S3 (stock, heh), Audi S4, Focus ST, BMW 330 and for curiosity BMW 335 and E46 M3 just to see how long would I hang with them, aim is for 60 mph :)

Actually it isn't. The A5 3.2 is a Longitudinal V6 with more HP and torque than our little VR6 has. they just have the same displacement

from dig and till 60 you have a chance to win but 60-120 noway
R32 0-120 ~24 secs? M3 0-120 ~17 secs?

As a past owner of a E46 M3 SMG, the R32 is MUCH easier to launch consistantly. That said, I am guessing the race would be over when the M3 shifted into second, and you would be looking at alot of tail lights when the M3 hit 3rd.
