Auto week 7 cars for under 30k

Dont know if you saw this but they essentially said the GTI and civic are alive and well ( they actually mentioned if you plan to track the gti to change brake fluid and pads). The article then went on to say the Subaru BR-Z is clearly the game changer. Lower center of gravity than a cayman, 2759lbs, Mcpherson front, double wishbone rear, and you can turn off the traction control and hang the tail out. They said its very easy to put the car into oversteer then gather it up. They reviewed the Scion as well and said the car will do more for club racing than anything since the Miata.

So if anybody here gets one, please post up your review. I love this car but now is not my time for it.

I have a serious boner for the Toyoscibaru, it seriously looks like the perfect tuning platform. I'm going to try to get out to a dealer this week to at least sit in one, and see how I fit with my helmet on. Hopefully I don't do something stupid and test drive one because bad financial decisions will probably ensue.

Side AutoX Geek note: There are already 2 in my local AutoX region. I think about 4 or 5 others said they will be getting them within the year. We'll see where the SCCA puts them but I think it will kick ass in DS and STX if it goes there.

I am looking at it for club racing. If its anything like the s2000, it will have a few good years, then they will hamstring it and there will be well prepared cars for sale. I am into a civic build right now so the timing is all wrong for me. But I think this car will rock with coming after market support. If you get out for a test thrash, post it up. It likes to rev they say.

They're saying it'll prob go to C Stock.

I've sat in both an FRS and a BRZ now. My 6'4 215 34x34" self just ain't fitting. It'd actually be fine for daily driving, but i can't get enough headroom for a helmet.

It's official BRZ/FRS in C Stock as of July FastTrack. Still not classified for Street Touring though.

Yeah there was a FRS at the Hutchinson Island Auto-X two weeks ago. It didn't do too bad in CS. My 370Z is in CS as well. I would love to run my GTI but I use it more to keep the miles off the Z and haul my stuff around.

Auto-X times are listed below in case you were wondering how the FRS compares. Everyone in CS ran street tires. I tried to speak with the driver but our runs were almost back to back with less than a few minutes to check out tire pressures.
