(me)06 MKV GTI revo stg.2 vs 07 MKV GTI revo stg.1

Well it should be easy to see who won but my stage 2 revo lost to a stage 1. We both have manual transmission. I have neuspeed intake,ATP 3-inch dp and stage 2. He has a ghetto made intake that we made in 10 min and stage 1. I think my dv is tearing.

2nd gear pull- i barely pulled ahead and bam he started passing me

3rd gear- he just pulled ahead

i am pissed. hopefully i can get my hands on the new forge dv if not i am gonna get the mtm one(which i think is just the oem c)

lemme know what you think.

how did you tune his revo without a vagcom to tell you the correction factors on the vehicle?

most ideal settings on a stage 2, especially stage 2 are hard, as the weather changes its hard to specify whats best for the vehicle.

i usually keep mine at 7-4-9 and i have tested it at cold weather and warm weather and ive been ok, ill be at 7-3-9 pending on vagcom results for summer though, fuckin hawttt

im tyring to help you out. well this brings us to the next point,

do you have a boost gauge? if so how much boost are you holdin/peaking.

it may be your PCV valve taking a shit on you, check and see if you have any oil spillage in the engine compartment to verify, as well as pulling the PCV hose and checking it for oil.

it could be a bad DV, remove you DV, check for rips or tears, also check if the fop part of the DV comes off easily, if it does, you have a leak.

FPR, fuel pressure regulator, check ur vagcom and run auto-scan for codes, you may not have a check engine light but may have an intermittent error.

next up to what speed did you guys race, if he was still on stock exhaust, the 2.5 inch exhaust seems to be better down low, if you are running a 3 inch you can catch him up top.

you have stage 2, which can put the smack down on some FPR's and DV's.

ive gone through 1 DV, and 2 FPR's already. one of which was an Audi S3 FPR.
Revo is a very powerful program, next time you get your car logged have them log the correction factors as close to 0 as possible, its safe for your car because the engine is working harder to compensate for the timing correction.

between about 3-6 is safe and powerful for us. get a vagcom, you wont regret it.

were all friends here, just some tough love baby. making sure u are doing things the right way and not getting screwed.

Man Alf, that was a really good and informative write up. I don't have revo, but if i did, im sure this would be very helpful for me, and it should be for others that do.

Please keep it up with your knowledgeable posts, you seem to know your shit.
Also don't let any of these unappreciative assclowns detour you from doing so, k thanks. I'm out, everybody have a good weekend!

You know, there is a guy on this board who has a GTI and is from Alaska...

So Alf, what are these settings you speak of? I remember you saying that REVO is more or less a rather tunable chip that needs to be tuned down the road rather than APR or GIAC-X. What about the Unitronics chip?

Anyway, MYFAST, you're from Montgomery County? Dude, I live here in Wheaton! By any chance, you havn't seen a RS GTI fly around here parts have you?
