got APR
just got APR chipped. (stock/91/security code)
I DO have a stock baseline dyno. I will be dynoing again in a few weeks after its completely settled. A gain of approx 30hp-40tq to wheels is what I hope for, given my base numbers: 176.8whp/197.6wtq The feel? Very different right away. Pulling out of streetwerkes driveway I already felt the difference. This was because only 1" of pedal push produced much easier acceleration. The very low end rpm is greatly improved. The boost is now rising to at least 18psi, I havnt maxed it out yet. When it passes 15psi the acceleration really kicks up a notch. The freeway was great too. I went from normal speeds up to a certain speed in an amazing amount of time. I actually got a bit nervous cause it was so much faster. I'm gonna get in trouble with this thing. Finally, I took my work exit ramp. Not a full loop, a right ramp to a street. I was in 3rd, and I hammered it. The boost rose a tad slow since I was low rpm. But then all of a sudden my ESP light starting flashing all crazy. I guess my wheels broke loose cuz i was on a turn flooring it? I look forward to breaking this in over the next week and getting used to how to drive it. I am very happy with the gains vs price. (about $875 out the door). I dont plan to do exhaust at this time, when i consider price vs power gained. I'll enjoy one step at a time. |

Thanks for the write-up. I'm still debating which chip to go for, and I enjoy reading about people's experiences with each different one.

dude the other 2 might give you even more power than that. you will always slip in 1rst gear chipped. even stock. so get over that and start chipping.

apr has the 100+octane program out, but i guess it isn't compatible with the stage two kit yet. correct me if i am wrong. apr does excessive r&d to get the best performance out of each program. you can get the program, but it isn't designed to get the most out of my mods. so i have to wait until they program the program for the stages...(if that makes sense)

Solution = Less Power and Tourque or semi slicks Believe it or not if you put a slightly bigger turbo on, it wouldn't come on boost so hard or fast. A bit smoother, its all about power delivery.
