So I guess this is my little tribute to magus...

The other night out at one of the spots a friendly dude approached me and asked if I'd like to run my G against his "bolt-on" Corolla... I asked the dude what he had done to the car and he said it has all the bolt-ons, and some ECU work. Now I don't know what all the bolt-ons equates to, but I'd say they were doing a pretty damn good job. Everyone I asked "how fast is that Corolla?" All had the same answer......"I heard it's pretty fast!"

So for the hell of it I said lets do it. My buddy with the stage 2 GTI who originally was taking video, also joined on the last run (the run that wasn't cut short) for some 3 way action, but had a chick as a passenger, while me and the Corolla XRS were solo. Here's how it went..

I think that is Magus!! Hes the only bolt on BLUE XRS Corrola Ive heard of. its pretty damn quick for sure. nice runs!

http://www.9thgencorolla.com/forum//...ad.php?t=73109 I dont see any of those just bolt on non boosted xrs keeping up with you and beat a stage 2 gti like that. Even the guy flaco with 190whp and a good amount of bolt ons only ran a 14.2 in the 1/4 at 99. thats worse than some stage 1 gtis.

low 14s. 13s with drags. Car needs a full tune though. I'm still running a basemap.

How does a car running low 14s beat a stage 2 Gti? I ran 13.9 in my stage 1 it doesnt make sense.

Prob lots of weight reductions. I think he has an egine swap bc corollas don't sound like hondas =)

Its definately not an engine swap. It sounds like a Honda because it has headers, exhaust and stuff like that with a red line in the mid 8000s.

Hahahahah LMAO, I knew it had to be after meeting you, and seeing your down to earth attitude!

You know I didn't even realize the GTI was lining up next to you on that last run...Remember I was saying, "damn, I wish he got that run on tape." Well I guess he went with us, I just couldn't see him cause he was next to you.

Sick runs man. I kept on hearing "that Corolla's quick, that Corolla's quick"...I guess I know how quick now..

Maybe the passengers? That same GTI usually pulls out on me in 2nd and 3rd, but I reel him back in in 4th and 5th.

One week you guys swear its the slowest stage 2 ever..The next it's beating revo stage 2's and GIAC DSG MKV's with full turboback's and more mods then his.... I don't know what to tell ya.

what the feezy, was that xrs sittn right next to that g35, thats xrs is quick, i ran a corrolla a few months back and dis guy sat right next to me the entire way until i dropped it in to 5th than i began to pull on him, when i asked him what he had in there he was tellin me that he had an engine swap and an intake, and i was completely stock...im pretty sure thats what kind of motor he had in there...
