Do they have much experience with MK6 GTIs? I'm thinking I might still drive to Accumoto in Madison and get mine done there, since they have been doing APR reflashes for quite a while.

There is no real difference between a mkv and mkvi for a reflash. They hook a laptop up to the car and download it. Pat said he does on average 2 cars a week. I'm gonna have him do my k04 when I go that route. I was originally gonna try acumoto but could not get a hold of anyone there. If u leave near mke Chicago is closer then Madison for a tune. Trust me Kummrow knows his stuff. Tell him Garrett sent ya:)

mkvI's require bench flashed(ecu removed from car then flashed) as opposed to mkvs which are cable flashed.. from what I have heard anyway...

Yep, the ECU module has to be removed to do a flash on the MK6s. That's why I'd rather not be the first person it's tried on.

Besides it coming out there is nothing 'different' in the actual flashing. It takes all of a few min to unplug and remove it from the car. Mkv's can be bench flashed too as I'm sure u know. If u have any mechanical knowledge it shouldn't be to tuff.

APR's suggested flash time, is 1-2 hours. Thats also if and I say "IF" their server is runnig without problems. I was a t shop who was doing this and they had a guy waiting 6 hours cause apr's site was down.

Well look at it positively, 600$ over 3hr is a better bang for your buck then 600$ for .5 an hour. Actually made em work for it a little.
