water/meth is good for some power.. not a crazy load but still..

that could be the difference between a just a downpipe stage 2
and a HPFP upgraded/water-meth/maybe possible wastegate tweeked stage 2+ car.

I've seen my car pull away from similar stage 2 gti's top end.

The only video i have of something like that is a stage 2 dsg mkv running 110 leaded and a tweeked wastegate. I started in 3rd cause my stock clutch was seeing the end of it's days but i went from getting walked to reeling him in and passing him. I shut down once i got out in front of him.

Both DSG? Or just him?

Seems like he had you until his tranny shifted into 5th gear, and that's when you start to come back on him.

If it's dsg vs 6 speed, pretty common results IMO. DSG are geared a little more aggressive down low, but that only comes back to hurt them up top (when running a car making the same power).

So is he shifted to 5th, and you were still riding out 4th, the gearing advantage was strongly in your favor. Which IMO is why you came back like that.

Could be wrong though.

Edit: Which speaking of, kinda reminds me of this race 6 speed vs dsg.

hard to tell but it sounded like he started at pretty low RPM which would explain why you hung for a second before he walked you. Looks about right to me though, you have an 06, so your tune is a lot less agressive than the other model years, not to mention the hardware is more limited. And on the stock PCV you're even slower. I don't know his mods, but there's also a big difference between basic stage 2 and and an all out stock turbo setup. Stage 2 still really has no topend...

Im still trying to figure out your explanation.

So he walked you but beat your buddies GSR worse than he beat you yet you cant beat your buddies GSR. Logically that doesnt make any sense.

He > You
He >> GSR
GSR > You

sounds more like driver error than anything else to me. Yeah he may have is stock PCV/DV replaced and what not but it sounds like you are inconsistent when it comes to driving. No offense or anything just my take on it.

well Grmncrsnbr i kind of agree with you on that but we ran again that night t and he couldn't pull me like he usually did, and i know it's not a big mod, but that DV helped me alot, cause everytime we ran before he would pull me hard but now he's having trouble, i guess also with the stock dv i was boosting 12psi but with the Forge dv im holding 15psi..when i get that clip i send it to you, that's unless he destroy's the evidence..lol

The 06 files request lower boost than 07/08, but if you're only hitting 15 then you have a leak, most likely PCV since it's stock.

This reminds, of when me and you(matt) were at euro warz and at the track. I ran that blue GLI who was fully tuned. I would walk him and then he started to spray and fucked my day.
