Central jacking point?

I want to change the oil and filter in my MkV GTI and was looking under the car for a central jacking point where I could use my floor jack to raise the front enough to then put jack stands under each side (at the 'factory' jacking points) so I can then get to the drain plug and filter without too much hassle.

Anyone know of a safe place to put the floor jack so I can get this done?

Also, what's everyone's opinion of the Amsoil product line? My buddy is a dealer and I've always heard good things about Amsoil in the Jeep world a.k.a my other vehicle obsession.

Thanks for any and all input.

Can't you simply jack up one side slightly off of the factory point, place a stand, and then repeat on the other?

Use the factory jack points. I got tired of messing with them and just bought ramps. Up and on the ramps in 1/10th of the time to jack the cap up and use stands.

subframe or OE jack points. Subframe is going to be your best quickest bet for placing stands though..

I'm thankful my dad has a lift at his shop at there house. in and up in about 45 seconds lol. we just did a full exhaust swap on my friends S2000 in about 35 mins from removal to completion. Lifts are gods gift to the automotive world.

Amsol, is great too, just get the proper weight for the car and you're good. Oil is oil honestly until you get into the high horsepower builds. Just throw the proper weight and a synthetic in the car and call it a day. I've had great results from just off the shelf mobile 1 too.

Subframe is a perfectly acceptable place to gently lift the car, then place the jack stands at the pinch welds on each side at the front.

If a low car can bash the subframe into shit constantly in the road, then you are fine to lift the car.
