Interior door trim removal

Hi guys,
I want to remove the interior door trim to install some speakers and dynamat the doors tomorrow. I had a quick poke around this morning and I think I have the drivers side figured out but I can't figure out the passenger side.

I need to remove some trim around the grab handle to access whatever torx bits are behind it. How do I do this?

And how do I then free up the trim around the door opening handle?

I did search, and there's one DIY thread but the pics no longer work.

attached you will find two PDFs that explain the removal process of both the driver side and passenger side interior trims.

i hope this helps and answers your questions. goodluck!

Thanks LoyalSage. I was thinking of doing the same. I have a set of Focal speakers that I pulled from one of my previous cars. Can't wait to put them in the R. Figure while I am at it...I will add some dynamat as well.

Thanks mate, that's awesome!

Got the drivers side mostly done today... I cut the stocko 6.5" driver out and put a hertz split in it's spot. Lots of dynamat... Need to wire in the crossovers and fab up something for the tweeter tomorrow.

And then repeat it all for the passenger side.

So just to clarify - on the passenger side it says "pry upper section of grip shell -1" - does that piece pry out horizontally? Really trying to avoid breaking clips and so on!

Glad these are useful to more folks! Enjoy.

Your welcome, it is very clearly illustrated in the diagram, attached you will find a screenshot of a section of the PDF I attached in my earlier post, I do believe it would be considered a "horizontal" line, however I feel in cases like these, I would rather rely on an image rather then words.

The process is similar. Remove the grip and the screws under it, and the screws from the bottom of the door panel. Pull and lift up.

Also, if you're just doing dynamat it's easier to remove the door skin rather than the door panel as you can't access the door skin from the inside at all. Same goes for changing the lock modules.
