Just saw this:
http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen...nder_Flare_Kit_2006_2007_2008_2009/ES2808526/

Looks to be damn near the same thing as the 1552 fender flare kit except this has a little piece that connects underneath the front lip and rear valence

I'm thinking about getting this ...80% sure so far... and install shouldn't be too bad. Best looking bolt on for our car yet i think.

According to the install document ECS went with 235 on a 10" wheel (ET25+30mm spacer).

Wonder how wide a tire that can be put under stock fenders in a street able setup and how wide you could really go with the flares.

There was discussion on these some time ago when someone made a custom set for a Golf. The guy was trying for that mk1/mk2 look...I think Eurotuner is who I think published the article. Apparently someone thought it would be a hit but it harkens me back to the days of little and wide wheels of the late 80's and early 90's..or rather Big Time Poke!

Now, these wide fenders were done in Germany...I liked them, but they do not appear to be available anymore:

Thats not a bad price from srs-tec, but I wish there was a fender liner available as I dont have a race car.

From a drag racing perspective, Ive love to rock the fronts with wide slicks!

The holes will rust. Just applying touch-up paint isn't good enough. Get the stuff the people who install replacement windshields use. It's not like you'll ever see it (it's black). I think destroying your car for a "look at me" look is stupid. If it was a track only car then maybe.
