Yeah it is definitely a skill and art to install vinyl properly. I had a professional redo it and his skill at the job was very impressive. I think it is something that can be learned but he said it takes 6 months of training to train employees to be proficient at it. I could probably get it done, but I would need a HUGE roll of vinyl to practice with. As far as cost effectiveness goes it is cheaper to just pay someone else to do it because they really don't charge that much.
