Car Chat 2: The Place You Go When Plac ISN'T Considering a New Car

The Terrain is essentially a boxy Equinox. Solid offering, but I don' know if you can get the wife into it. Mine didn't really care for it. She loved the Encore, but the 9-4x was bigger, cheaper, and had more features.

The Equinox just looks incredibly cheap compared to the Terrain, IMO.

I know, same platform, doe. But GMC looks better.

I love your 9-4x move, her mileage limitation makes it hard to pull something zany like that off.

My same thought after test driving a Trailhawk V6. It was a big let down. Maybe the new programming helped it though.

CPO Acura RDX?

Is the RDX substantially different than an EX-L CRV? besides in price?

Not yet but I am sure it will be - she wants one and likes it more than anything else but she is convinced she needs more space.

Just make sure you don't show her one with the center rail, make sure it's one with the full-width rear bench.

Though, you might reconsider once you look under the hood of my car and see where the oil filter's located.

I would agree that the Terrain looks better. Women tend to disagree, doe.

Hmmm, that might knock the Encore out too. It's pretty small.

First gen used a 2.3L 4 cyl turbo engine making 240 HP / 260 lb-ft. The AWD system is also more advanced than the more basic one in the CRV. But if the CRV was good to you, this is like a step up but still in the Honda family.

Yea, hard to find one under 20k miles. But I can't recommend one more.

It's an OUTSTANDING vehicle. We both love that thing to death. It is absolutely unbeatable in terms of features to value. Reasonably fun to drive, and a "just right" size that's bigger than a compact, but smaller than a mid. It's all GM underneath too, so parts are easy. I'm convinced that if Saab could have held on, the 9-4x would have carried it a while.

Dat forum, doe
Well, I can't recommend the Ferd Escape because Ferd and I don't like the looks, and #firstmodelyear.

Buick Encore is a goofy little thing, but people seem to love them.

Mazda CX-5 is out #becausemazda.

Toyota Rav4 is...?

Honda CR-V is boring.

Subaru Forester I can't recommend because of that continuously vaginal transmission. Same goes for Crosstrek. And Crosstrek is dangerously underpowered.

Hyundai and Kia... just, no.

Chevy Equinox? Again, just no.

GMC Terrain? I actually kinda like these.

Jeep Cherokee, maybe? Pricing might be tough.

Hmmm...

Why out because Mazda? I mean... Plac bought one, so you know they're good.

Agreed on the Equinox, spent a few hours in one recently :barf:

I feel like the Buick is kinda cool for some reason...

Subaru has arguably the best CVT in the business.

Mazda has nice stuff as well.

Who are these people that love the Buick Encore? 1.4L 140hp? No thank you. They do sell incredibly well in China tho. As does it's Chevy counterpart.

Because Bender's female has some unreasonable hate for Mazdas. :iono:
