Have a permanently illuminated ESP light on a 2009 Mk5 1.9 TDi.
Had a chap go in with VCDS and this has thrown up, amongst others that have been cleared, a G251 issue but won't allow access to the module for Basic Settings.
Digging deeper into the interwebb seems to suggest the G251 Lateral Acceleration Sensor is only present on cars with All Wheel Drive or ones with Hill Hold Control (from Ross-Tech wiki).
Anyone confirm if this is correct or not.
As my car has neither then this may explain why you can't run Basic Settings!
