I think it's hilarious. It's an excellent litmus test for douchbaggery on here. I never ever street race or post in there, but some of those threads are priceless! Same formula for every post:

Drawn out story.... talks shit about the competition.... someone defends competition, talks shit about OP.... small fire ignites.... someone defends OP and VW...... flames are rampant.... thread closed. I love it

Maybe we should take out the Picture section too. Guy/girl posts pic of his mostly stock GTI with some mod thats been done a thousand times. People give him/her props on his mod like its something new. People flame his mod cuz they don't like it.Or someone posts a pic of their completely stock GTI and someone says "WoW nice car!" or something to that sense. I can't tell you how bored I am of opening a thread expecting to see something unique and seeing someones stock GTI displayed in the pics like its something new.Not once have i said "WOW! that stock looking GTI is so amazing!" It's more like......"Oh wait... I've seen it a thousand times!!"

Better yet lets take down the auto x/performance driving and other crap. Same thing every time "ran 00.00 at so and so stage 1,2 or 3" or "uhh..I went to the track...heres some pics...." You bash on us for racing in straight lines. Yet you people sit there at your little track events trying to see how fast you can go in a straight line...."I went 13.whatever for a quarter mile in a straight line"...that takes skill? If it gets you off to do that props to you then, just leave the vs. section alone.

If you don't like the vs. section. Stay out. If you've got nothing better to do than bash people for how they do their racing on a forum on the internet then grab that little bottle of hand lotion on your computer desk, go to your porn site and spend that half minute getting your jollies. Maybe us people who like to street race should start coming in there to the "Professional" racing section and start talking shit to you guys.

racing on the street takes no talent and is plain stupid most of the time ;). its just about who has the fastest car, WOW!

goto a track and see who has the fastest lap time if you wanna brag.

do i drive fast? yes, have i done stupid things on the street? sure, but i dont need to post about it, only encourages people imo.

Thats your opinion. So is racing on a track about more than seeing who has the faster car?I was under the impression that when you race on a track you're trying to see who is the fastest to get around it.In your words, "its just about who has the fastest car, WOW!". But I guess since the track racers take corners and have to maneuver their car around that makes them more superior? Right? Gives them the right to bash us for what we like to do. People are impressed by different stuff. Thats where the "professional" racers and the street racers differ. We like talking about our events on the street. Hence there being a section for it. Yet people that wank off to track racing continue to feel the need to come into the vs. section and bother us. Dunno why everyone feels the need to try to change or flame street racers.

no im not talking about a stupid drag strip thats not a track, im talking about a real track and its about whos the best driver where handling and power both play an important role.

and just fyi i dont goto the vs section so i dont slam anyone, but im sure if i read some of the stories i would want too.

as much as I think the section should disappear. it does keep those threads out of the rest of the forum.

Good quality control.

i disagree
at least if it is there, i can just avoid all the threads
where as if you close the section, then those threads will be posted in the other sections, and my eyes will be bleeding from reading the stupidity

I didn't think of it that way. Great point!

We have discussed this many times in the past. Having a section for the fictional entertainment not only keeps the other sections clean, also makes is easier to keep the eye-sore threads under one section. We still moderate the so called "street racing" sections carefully, and when it goes beyond sanity, we take care of the stuff. The section, for now, will be open unless the admins/mods decides otherwise. My only suggestion is to all members not to take it for granted. If it gets out of hand, it will taken away.

OP, I thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please let one of us know if there is any questions/concerns in your mind.
