Possible to have time display on radio while the radio is not on?

Hello everyone, new to these forums and not sure if this is in the right area. Anyways, I just got a awesome deal on a '09 2Dr GTI and it came with the premium sound package, and I was wondering is it possible to get the time to display on the radio's display while the radio is off. Most cars have the time displayed on the radio display while the radio is off, just wondering if its possible on the GTI.

there should be a software update out. i know that after i had mine updated, i got the clock on the radio

Thanks for the quick reply, so I should be able to just go to the dealer and have them update the radio for me correct?

should be. i have an '06 so im not sure of the differences in software, but it should be possible

Well I went into the dealer and asked and they said that's how it is.

The software update adds a clock to the radio when its turned on. There isn't a way to have it display when the car off, or when the radio is not on.

If you don't have a clock on your radio you can get the update.
