ok i know this isnt actuall stiching but it looks pretty good i think.

supplys needed: thick embrordery thread, sewing needle, tooth pick, scissors, paper plate and super glue.

for the center piece i took the super glue and squeezed it on the plate and used my toothpic to tab a tiny bit in the grove then slowly added the thread and puched it into the grove. i did this all the way around adding a tiny bit of glue ever few millimeters. pics 1,2,3,4

for the steering wheel groves i first made a tiny loop pic 5. then i cut off 10 or so inches for room to play with.

on the opposite end of the loop thread the needle anduse the needle the go under the factore black stiches. then i did the same concept as above. taking my toothpick and adding some super glue in the groves.

after you make ur way all around take the needle end and go through the loop that u made and pull on it to make it tight. then run the needle back under the factore threads and clip the excess.

i made sure all my loops were on the back side and as small as possible

I think it looks great. I'd be curious if it would affect airbag deployment or not though.

yeah... the center circle makes it look waay too busy... without it i think it will look good

Cover opens completely, so it doesn't affect airbag.

I'm not sure I like it.. I rather have red stitching instead of the black one, and the red line on top like the rally wheels from Sparco

its just thread, idk how it could affect the airbag. them things shoot out pretty damn hard.

well originally planned on stitching my shift boot today and on the way home i glanced at my steering wheel and got the idea. so tomorrw is the shift boot. only 33 cents for the thread

points for creativity. just thinking that over time it'll get dark and washed out then you gotta do it again.

i agree that the center looks a bit off, but good job anyway

deffinately possible, only time can tell, and if it does..i can do it again in less than a hour.

how is it now that' you've crazy glued it in?

fyi - lighter fluid is a good glue relaxer should you need one.

its holding up really well today. it dried perfectly and since the location that i inserted the thread is in a grove, it flush against the steering wheel and cant be bumped or pulled out on accident

my dad's ferrari 360 and 430 have red stitching and it looks siiiiick.

this is really cool. IMO it looks better than the mk6 wheel stitching, which i think looks good. cool.
