It would nice to see a solution to this... The mechatronics unit is a far more expensive problem to fail out of warranty though...

So if you have both... you are looking at 6-7 grand in repairs right there...

its a little scary to think about not having warranty on these cars...

Maybe we need one of those sign-up websites with a draft letter and a place to write a signature on it with comments, and other car related info we can provide (VIN is a good idea).

I'll be honest, I'm not rich and I have to work very hard on a daily basis to pay off this car for 48 months and if VW cannot come up with a fix I think all BPY engine owners deserve a CCTA engine replacement. If Porsche can do this for first generation Boxster owners with engine failures, so can VW.

worst part is dealers don't know when follower wear has gone too far. they told me mine was fine, despite the fact that it lacked DLC. and this is the good dealership i go to, the one that replaced shit under warranty knowing i had a downpipe and stage 2 flash.

this is a touchy issue guys.

they looked at it and said it was normal.

it was kind of scary because it was the best service manager i've ever met, someone i actually have respect for.

HA... VWoC will probably still deny it even if VWoA issues a recall or TSB...

There is a TSB with regards to AC compressors in the states but in canada VW refuses to acknowledge it... and last time i checked... cars in the US and Canada are coming from the same factories with the same parts... :mad0259:
