Fair enough folks... just old school i guess... if i see an alternative that is not made in china, i buy the alternative. contrary to popular belief, there are still things not made in china. I have a toshiba dvd that is more than 7 years old, made in japan and still rocks and still gives better picture than one of my pioneer dvd of 2 years made in china which is no longer working...

Same as my dad, although he is loosening up a bit now, and checks less frequently, although even for me i'm pretty sure Japan>China on making electronics will always stand!

There are certain places that make certain things to a higher standard for me...

Expencive Electronics: Japan
Cheap Electronics: China
Dedicated Track cars : England/Stripped out Race cars
Car Parts: Germany
Cars: Germany
Porcelain: England
Food: Italy
Big things: America
Clothes: China
Weird Porn: Japan..
Alchohol: Belgium/Britain (gotta include Ireland for obvious reasons)
Sound systems: Britain (i'm no expert though...)
Sport: England
People: England

Obviously some slightly biased views, but add your own if ya like

I recently bought a Toshiba LCD TV expecting it to be made in Japan, I think you'll find they are now made in China too.

BTW, for those that purchased the WD6050 via paypal today, have you guys received any confirmation for the order?

I emailed them separately after I made the order asking them nicely to confirm that they received the order and payment but got nothing. China's 3hrs behind GMT+10 and even if they don't start work till midday (I got my previous email replies from them around 2pm) they would've definitely seen the paypal emails.

Yup and my Mr's 3 brothers are/were all master cutters for Waterford crystal and are all on protective notice. 1 of them actually spends a fair amount of time in the USA on behalf of the company. From being THE largest employer in Waterford to closing down, sad times... Mr's home in Waterford backed onto the original Crystal factory and we removed heaps of large glass 'rocks' from the rear garden :)

Got some nice Crystal & Wedgewood pieces in the cabinet :)

Hang on to it - it'll depreciate less than your car will :help:

Sad story, however. Won't be the last one I fear.

Hmm... I'm *trying* to order the Waywell unit to replace my Witson/AVC-9000.

Haven't heard back, it's been about 3 days since I've sent them an email and also contacted them on the "Dealing" page.

Any advice? Which email address did those of you that have ordered use? I sent my inquiry to waywell@szwaywell.com
